Best kitesurfing spot in the Philippines

Boracay Island

The tropical island of Boracay is well known for its white sand beach, the most amazing sunsets, nightlife and steady wind between December and March. Situated just off the coast of Panay Island and only a short flight away from the country’s biggest cities of Cebu and Manila, Boracay offers a different view for the tropical island gateway.

Mindoro

Consistent wind, friendly locals, and plenty of authentic experiences are a few reasons Mindoro should be on your kitesurfing holiday bucket list. Mindoro is an unspoilt slice of kiting paradise should you take a less travelled path. One of over 7000 islands in the Philippines, its proximity to the Northern point of the Philippines means it experiences strong wind between November to March, arguably more so than the infamous Boracay.

Kitesurfing travel is recommended between November to March as habagat season is known to be inconsistent here.

Siquijor Island

Tucked away in the heart of the Central Visayas, Siquijor Island is a hidden gem for kitesurfers seeking consistent wind, warm turquoise waters, and uncrowded shores. Unlike many overdeveloped kite destinations, Siquijor remains largely unexplored, offering a raw, magical atmosphere where you often share the beach with only a handful of riders. The island benefits from two reliable wind seasons each year: the steady Amihan (northeast monsoon) from November to May, bringing clean side-shore winds and ideal conditions for long freeride sessions, and the Habagat (southwest monsoon) from June to October, delivering stronger, playful winds and dynamic sessions on wide, open beaches. With wind almost year-round, flat water lagoons, and a laid-back island vibe, Siquijor is a dream for riders who want quality conditions without the crowds — a place where every session feels wild, free, and just a little bit magical.

Zamboanguita

Just across the water from Siquijor Island, Zamboanguita is a raw, high-energy playground reserved for experienced riders only. Located on the southern coast of Negros Oriental, this spot is all about power, height, and progression. Consistent strong winds, punchy gusts, and perfectly shaped kickers create explosive conditions that push limits — this is where some of the highest jumps in the Philippines have been recorded. Zamboanguita is not for beginners; it’s a destination built for advanced kiteboarders and dedicated big air riders chasing altitude, adrenaline, and next-level sessions in an uncrowded, untamed setting.
